What to Expect When a Complaint is Filed
The business will be contacted by NCPB with your complaint and allowed 10 business days to respond. If the business does respond we will contact you and see if you are satisfied with the response. If the problem is still not corrected we will ask you to send an email to us as to why. We then may take punitive action against the business score if the business has not met its obligation.

If the business does not respond we will take punitive action against the business rating.

A poor rating with NCPB can be devastating to a business. Using this resource gives the consumer a tremendous amount of leverage when dealing with an unresponsive business. The NCPB is one of the best resources for future consumers of a business to do research when making a buying decision. Ultimately a mark against a company will likely translate into lost revenue for a business. When the NCPB is involved, the business owner is listening, and when they do not the penalties are severe.
